Real Impact of HFOs & PFAS Panel
ATMO Australia 2025 is addressing one of today’s most pressing environmental challenges: the impact of HFOs and their TFA (trifluoroacetic acid) degradation product on health, safety, and the environment. The importance of defining PFAS (“forever chemicals”) to include certain HFOs, HFCs and TFA will be addressed.
We’re excited to introduce our expert speakers:
- Jon Dee, social entrepreneur, broadcaster, and environmental advocate will open the session in an exclusive interview. He will share insights on his fight against PFAS contamination, how he founded the STOP PFAS action group and his efforts to improve public safety and government action on PFAS related issues.
- Dr Christopher Hansen, Senior Lecturer, University of New South Wales will then present his new study revealing that HFOs break down into fluoroform (R23), a highly potent greenhouse gas with a GWP of 14,800.
