The third edition of the ATMOsphere MAC Summit, held in partnership with Technische Universität Berlin's Chair of Heat Transfer and Heat Conversion, is a one-day event on natural refrigerants in mobile applications.
The programme features the state of the art in cooling and heat pumping with natural refrigerants for mobile air conditioning, heat pumps and transport refrigeration — implementation and scaling up of CO₂ and propane, technology and market trends, technology case studies, heat and work recovery, charge reduction strategies and compressor lubrication, and OEM presentations.

This presentation details new fleet-based modelling from the Hanon Systems white paper on mobile air conditioning (MAC) refrigerants. Drawing on real-world vehicle data, the analysis quantifies HFO refrigerant leakage and tracks its breakdown into trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) in rainfall, highlighting the potential of natural refrigerant technologies as alternatives.
